Jared "Oly" Olson

November 23, 1980 ~ August 2, 2022
Age 41 of Forest Lake. Loving Dad, Grandpa, Soulmate, Son & Brother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 2, 2022.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Bernie & Ruth Olson & Edward & Agnes Caron. Survived by children, Daylen, Skyler (Joe Jakubowski), Summer; grandson, River; soulmate, Melissa Wirkus; parents, Mike siblings, Jeff (Kelli); Chris (Sherry); nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Jared was loving, caring, kind, supportive, and hard-working. He loved spending time with his family and his children. His children, Daylen, Skyler, and Summer, were his most significant accomplishments. He had a playful side with them and loved to "Bust a Move" and Jam out while going on drives with them. What Jared wanted most for his children was to be happy with everything they chose to do in life. His second set of "kids" were his cats; Rumpie, Hyper, and Wafflez. Jared loved sports, whether cheering on the Vikings and Gophers or playing softball with his buddies. At home, Jared enjoyed watching game shows, and cooking shows alongside his soulmate, Melissa. When it came to music, he loved all genres. Jared was a country boy at heart with a great sense of humor. He was generous with all he had, and he loved without question. All will miss his presence and love of life.
A celebration of Jared’s life will be 6 PM Thursday, August 18th with visitation beginning at 4 PM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. In lieu of flowers memorial can be directed to a GoFundMe set up by the family: https://gofund.me/b947be77

I have so many warm memories of knowing Jared as a young man while I was palling around with his brothers in Lino Lakes. He was such a smiley and laughing kid. A delight to be around. May his memory be a blessing.
I went to elementary school with Jared and he was not only one of the nicest people I knew but the classiest. One time is 6th grade I had an embarrassing moment (fell in front of the classroom or something like that). The next morning I overheard kids laughing about it when they didn’t think I could hear them. Jared stood up for me even when he didn’t know I was there. I’ve never forgotten about how that felt and the courage it must have taken for him to stand up for someone even when it wasn’t popular.
