J. Leonard Peltier

Age 84,of Stacy. Passed away accidentally on August 13, 2006. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Stella; daughter, Jean Jochim; son, David Peltier; sister, Margaret Fry; grandchildren, Sherry (Chris) Olson, Kelly Jochim, Daniel Peltier, and Amanda Jochim; great grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Olson. Orginally from Beardsley Minnesota, Leonard was the valedictorian of his graduating class. Although he retired from the Columbia Heights Parks Department, Leonard was a farmer at heart, especially enjoying time on his tractor. Through the years Leonard also enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing the violin and cornet. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus in Columbia Heights and very active at St. Peters Catholic Church in Forest Lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday August 23, 10:30 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation Tuesday August 22, 4-8 PM continuing Wednesday 9-10 AM all at Roberts-Eckert Funeral Home 555 SW Centennial Drive, Forest Lake.
