Gerald "Jerry" Dimmen

April 22, 1943 ~ December 3, 2022
Age 79 of Forest Lake, passed away unexpectedly due to heart complications on December 3, 2022. Gerald James Dimmen was born on April 22, 1943 in Thief River Falls, MN. He was raised by his grandmother, Lena Dimmen , on the family farm. He attended country school at the Dimmen School and then attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls.
Jerry married Louann Carlene Mosbeck on April 8, 1961. They immediately moved to the Twin Cities area where they established their home and raised their children. Jerry was baptized and confirmed in 1962 at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN.
He worked for Great Northern Railway (now Burlington Northern) from 1963 to 1983. He then commenced work for the State Department of Corrections at the Stillwater Correctional Facility in 1983 and retired in 1998.
Jerry was a "tinkerer" and thoroughly enjoyed fixing things, from everything outdoors to clocks and Louann's many watches. In addition, he and his son Dean shared their love for old cars. Always something going on! Jerry didn't build a skyscraper or find a cure for the common cold; he was just an honorable and kind man and that is all anyone has to be.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Louann; daughter, Darcee Rae Dimmen of Forest Lake; grandson, Robert James Dimmen (whom he and Louann raised); grandchildren, Tianna Marie Tagg of Woodbury, Heather Ann Erickson of Center City, Derek Lee Dimmen of Forest Lake; brother, Larry (Cathy) Dimmen of Marco Island, FL; sister, Shirley McCray; brother, Arthur Paulson; together with his nephews and nieces who were very dear to him. Preceding him in death was his dear son, Dean Carl Dimmen (Christmas 2014); grandson, Landon Ander Erickson (Easter 2015) and Louann's parents who meant the world to him.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be 3 PM Thursday, December 8th with visitation beginning at 2 PM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake.

A most wonderful couple and we sure will miss Jerry 😥
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
I’m Mona Burczyk, sister of Jerry Lappegaard, I just want to say how sorry I was to hear of him passing. We have many memories of the Dimmen boys with my brother. They were a group of friends that not many of us get to have. You have our deepest sympathy.
