My heart is heavy and my thoughts are with you, Hickerson family.
From as early as I remember playing hockey, Kay was a large presence in petite form making noise to cheer us on and putting in endless miles on the road before FL even had an indoor rink. She was my second hockey mom, a notion I’m certain I share with many friends of all three of her boys. How she ever drove that huge, silver Suburban in the ’80s I don’t know, but I’m honored to have been shuttled to and from arena’s across the metro area with Kay at the wheel and sometimes (most of the time) with us kids madly gearing up in the back when we were racing against the clock.
Off the ice, us little hockey hooligans were relentless in our energy, knee hockey and destruction, and she kept us fueled with meals and popcorn before we even realized we were hungry. She was that way. Always there, always smiling, generous in every way, especially with her laugh. Her laugh!
How did someone with Kay’s tiny stature have so much to give? I don’t have the answer, but I do know that her legacy lives strong with you all, her kind and caring family. May you find comfort in remembering the best of times.
Cliff,
So sorry to hear of the passing of your wife Kay. My deepest condolences to you and all of your family. Peter Jakubik
Kay and Cliff lived their love with their family on a daily basis, no special occasions needed to share fun, laughter and care for each other. I will miss my daily Facebook connection with Kay. She kept all our cousins aware of her health, and showed us how to endure with grace and a daily smile. Her natural cheerfulness was beautiful. Donna
I so enjoyed kay and cliff when they came to the dances. My sincere condolences. Marlene kingsley

Our thoughts, prayers and hugs are with you.
We had the privilege meeting Cliff and Kay on one of their many walks with Bella around the pointe on Lake Minnewawa. They would stop and talk and we became good friends with them over the last few years. We had serious conversations, but many more funny and lots of laughing conversations. Lots of great stories…
We are so happy that we meet them.
Such a happy couple – Kay was so sweet, kind to everyone.
We will miss her every day.

You will always be missed All our love
Sending our love,
Kay had an awesome personality. Whenever I was around her and the family I always felt comfortable and welcome. I wish we could be there at her celebration today but we are at Colton hockey tournament in Superior. We know she would understand. Thoughts are with the family. ❤️
