  1. Donny’s energy filled our hockey community. All the kids knew who was yelling “PRESSURE ” and listened. Great friend and coach who will be greatly missed. All our LOVE and prayers for strength to a wonderful family. Tom, Jill, Alex and Tommy

  2. Like all others reading this news, I’m stunned and saddened to hear of Donny’s passing. I went to high school as well as worked with him at Setterholm’s grocery store for a spell. He made bagging groceries about as fun as one can. He was a hilarious guy and his curly mullet will always stand the test of time. Donny Bakken will never be forgotten!

  3. Our pain is great and words alone will never be able to console what you as family must be going through. Donny was one of a kind. So much enthusiasm and love for kids, especially for Tucker and Jack. He was always so thoughtful and encouraging to those around him. We as a family appreciated his concern for us during times of our own grief, his high energy always made us smile and brightened our day. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

  4. So very sad to hear this horrible news! Don was always a goof ball who could cheer you up back in school. God bless your family, may he give them the strength and peace they all need to process how much they will miss you!! Love, Jason and Kelly White (Schoenecker)
