On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Donald’s military service to our country in the Marine Corps.
I was blessed to be able to cook for Don at Amira these past few years. He would always tell me that I don’t know how to cook a good egg (who was to argue with a 104 year old) I finally made him a poached medium egg and he loved it. I like to think I finally figured it out. Condolences to the family, Don was a GEM and will be missed by us all. I will always remember Don when I’m cooking eggs now….I will keep praying for the family and for Don.🙏
I met Don 3 yrs ago and I always called him my Mr. Blue Eyes. He was sharp, kind, grateful and sweet to his core. We need more Don’s in this world. I’m so thankful to have met him and I thoroughly enjoyed his stories. What a remarkable man! One of a kind! Rest in peace! My many sympathies to Peter, Sue and Jimmy! He’ll always be missed but never forgotten!
