Dean R. Nybakke
March 1, 1943 ~ October 15, 2020
Age 77 of Forest Lake. Loving Dad, Grandpa & Brother, passed away on October 15, 2020. Dean was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. He worked at 3M for 43 years in various roles. He has continued to carry on his wife Lynn’s pursuit of Animal Welfare through rescue organizations. Dean was an avid sports enthusiast and was a longtime hockey coach and referee.
Preceded in death by wife, Lynn. Survived by sons, Eric, Christopher (Ann Hauble); granddaughter, Katelyn; step-grandchildren, Damian Hauble, Mason Guse; siblings, Keith (Risa), Nancy (Charlie) Archer, Mark (Lori); many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
A celebration of Dean’s life 3-7 PM Thursday, October 29th at Roberts Family Life Celebration Home, Forest Lake. Memorials preferred to Rescue Tails or SFAR/Happy Hauer Sanctuary.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Dean’s military service to our country in the Navy.
Dean, along with his wife Lynn, shared a great love of animals. They were both passionate about helping homeless animals and devoted endless time and resources to support animal welfare. Dean loved the lake and loved to share it with others. We fondly remember going on a fabulous boat ride and having lunch with Dean and Lynn. Dean was a special soul who made a positive impact on many lives including the animals. He will be missed. Dana & Jim Herman
Dean and Lynn were both such lovely neighbors! They were always willing to help with whatever you needed, and never to busy to visit. They will be dearly missed! Joe and Kathy Jurasin
I was so sorry to hear about Dean’s passing. He was my cousin, Lynne’s husband and although I didn’t know him well- he was a part of my visits to Minnesota when I was a teenager. I remember him as always neat and well dressed and he was a very good water skiier. He was very patient trying to get me up on water skis at Forest Lake. I’m sure we have pictures of ?Dean at family gatherings and summertimes at the lake from the 70’s in our photo albums.
