  19. Darcy was like a mother to myself and my friends. Her son, Jacob, was one of my best friends growing up. You couldn’t separate Jacob, Jake, and Jack at one point in time. And Darcy, Darcy was the perfect blend of strong willed, forgiving, fun, and accountable to handle three ravenous teen boys. Her pantry was always stocked with goodies, her fridges had space available for us to bring endless cans of Mountain Dew. Darcy and Keith always had an open door for me. They didn’t know it, but the span of time I was hanging around their house was really tough in my personal life. Darcy always was able to make me smile and bring out the biggest belly laughs. She gave me so much crap for my long curly hair (that was more Keith, I think he was just jealous) The two of them really helped me through so many unspoken trials and tribulations simply though being cool adults who cared about me. I will forever appreciate that. Also, Darcy shared her love of music by allowing me to work to earn an acoustic guitar she had from her mother. That allowed me to teach myself, and now I’ve been playing for almost 18 years. Darcy has had a lasting impact on my life even though we haven’t spoken in well over a decade. She and her family contributed to a big part of my development as a human in my youth, and for that, I am forever grateful and lucky to have been included. I wish the family peace in this troublesome time. Take the needed measures to mourn, reflect, and heal. Much love – Jake Sayre

  20. Our deep condolences to Keith and Family. Keith and Darcy have been wonderful mentors to Jenny and I. He’s the best ‘boss’ a young guy could’ve had. Very sorry for your loss Keith, may the best memories last forever. Erik and Jenny O.

  21. Darcy’s son, Jake, has been a recurring and important presence in my life over the past two decades — from playing Pokémon and basketball as kids, to reconnecting as roommates in Boston, and most recently, becoming business partners in Denver.

Over all those years, several thing have stood out about Jake: his strength, resilience, courage and deep capacity for care. These traits undoubtedly reflect the incredible woman who raised him.

Jake and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Wishing you comfort, peace, and healing in the days ahead.
