Daniel C. "Lindy" Lindorfer

April 23, 1955 ~ September 21, 2025

Daniel C. Lindorfer (Lindy) age 70, of Columbus, MN passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
He was born in St. Paul, MN on April 23, 1955, to the late Robert and Laura (Kratt) Lindorfer Sr. and preceded in death his brother Robert Lindorfer Jr. (wife Lynn Lindorfer).
Dan is survived by his wife, Robin Johnson-Lindorfer; son Paul Lindorfer (Nicole), Bethanie (Marshall) Peterson and a total of 8 grandchildren; siblings, Laura (Bob) Budde, Margaret (Ron) Taylor, Jean (Ron) Regal and Dick (Debbie) Lindorfer; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Dan was a master carpenter whose hands shaped more than wood—they built a life of purpose, creativity, and love. As a proud member of the Carpenters Union for over 30 years, he led countless projects across the Twin Cities with wisdom, precision, and an uncanny ability to solve even the most complex building challenges. Whether overseeing commercial builds or breathing new life into home projects, Dan’s craftsmanship was unmatched. But his true joy came from working in his beloved shop, where the scent of natural hardwood and the hum of tools became the backdrop to countless memories. There, he poured his heart into custom furniture that reflected the beauty he saw in the world—and in the people he made it for. His siblings, children, grandchildren and friends knew him not just as the man who could fix anything, but as the patient teacher who passed down his skills with laughter, love, and sawdust-covered hugs. Dan’s legacy lives on in every piece he built and every life he touched.
A private gathering with immediate family to be held at a later date. The family requests their privacy at this time.

Guestbook

  1. Robin and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Dan was a life long friend. The only thing he couldn’t fix was his health. His suffering has ended but our memories of him will go on.

  2. Robin and family, Dan was a great guy who taught me so much in a few short years for which I’ll be eternally grateful!

    So sorry for your loss.

  3. I’m sorry for the family and friends of Lindy.
I remember him from Canfield and Hamline at the Lindorfer family home. I can picture him, tall skinny, and long hair. Lindy was always full of energy and was fun to be with. I’ll hold onto those memories.
I did not know of his illness. I was made aware of his passing by another friend Frank Zibley.
We all are saddened by his passing, and the hole left in the neighborhood community.

  4. Robin & family. So very sorry to hear of Dan’s recent passing. My heart is sad for your loss. Sending prayers to your family for healing of your hearts.
