Carol Martin
October 17, 1939 ~ August 15, 2015
Age 75, of Hugo, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015. Survived by sons and grandchildren, Craig (Heather), Elly and Max Martin; Todd (Nicole), Miah and Tanner Martin; and numerous other family members. Preceded by brother, Don Schwilk; and sister, Elaine Hearn.She grew up in the heart of Chicago. She attended Bradley University and Luther College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree. After college, she married Lawrence Martin and the moved to Minnesota in 1966. They lived for a short time in St Paul and then made the move to Hugo. Despite her city roots, she enjoyed all the qualities of life that the area had to offer. She retired as an Art teacher at Southwest Junior High and was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church. She will be missed by her many friends and family with whom she enjoyed to travel, admire art, and serve her church. Memorial service 11 AM Friday, August 21st at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 N Shore Dr. Forest Lake, MN 55025, with visitation beginning at 9 AM until time of service.

I had the privilege of taking Carol to a few medical appointments and to the IHOP for the very first time. She enjoyed that. She’ll be missed by many.
Carol kept the Retired Educators moving forward even when she wasn’t feeling he best. She will be missed by many! May she rest in peace
Todd and Craig, your mom and I became friends while teaching Bible School many years ago. She was a lovely lady and a wonderful friend to many. My prayers are with you and your family.
Craig and Todd, sending you my sympathy. Your mom and I shared many good conversations and visited the Minneapolis Art Institute on Educators Night. She was a dedicated and innovative teacher. So very sorry for the loss of your mom….she was always so very proud of both of you.
