Age 66 of Hugo. Loving Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle passed away surrounded by love and support of his family on December 3, 2023. Preceded in death by, parents, Catarino & Verula; daughter, Melissa Butler; nephew, Rob; sister-in-law, Lana Herdegen. Survived by wife of 30 years, Paula; son, Ricardo (Abby); siblings, Vera (Gerald) Seigler, Robert (CeCe), Consuelo (Jimmie) Fields, Irene Prescott, Katherine, Vincent (Char); father-in-law, Gary (Cooky) Unger; mother-in-law, Maxine Peterson; Brothers-in-law, Mike (Reyna) Unger, Bill (Korrin) Unger, Dan (Leah) Unger, Tom Unger, Mike Herdegen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Caesar grew up on the West Side of St Paul. He graduated from Humboldt High School and enlisted in the Army and became an Aviation Mechanic. He was stationed in South Korea as a crew chief for helicopter repair. Caesar worked in building maintenance and the landscape industry for many years. He was extremely mechanical and loved to take on the challenge of repairing just about anything. He loved sports and was a coach for some of his son's youth sports teams. He was a true Vikings and Gopher football fan. He enjoyed listening to 70's music. He had great love for his dogs; Daisy Mae, Mindy & Benny as well as nature. In recent years he took up watercolor painting which often included nature. To know Caesar was to love him. He was a generous and selfless man with an amazing kind heart, truly a wonderful soul. He was strong and strong-willed and faced his challenges head on. May he now be at peace after a courageous 10 -1/2 year battle with cancer. Caesar will be truly missed as he left his mark with those that knew and loved him. A celebration of Caesar’s life 2 PM Sunday, December 17th with visitation beginning at 1 PM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family. The service will be livestreamed here.
