Alan "Mike" B. Welch
May 19, 1934 ~ March 8, 2019
Age 84 of Forest Lake. Loving husband, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, passed away surrounded by family on March 8, 2019.
Preceded in death by siblings, Rejene, Pat, Bud. Survived by loving wife of 40 years, Linda; children, Michael (Deb), Daniel (Laura Samuelson), Melissa Kordosky (Sean Buckingham); grandchildren, Joe, James, Ali, Katie, Brian, Kellie, Trevor, Steven, Zach, Logan, Blake, Jaxson; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Mike was a longtime employee of Goodin Company. He was passionate about skiing and was a certified ski instructor at Wild Mountain for many years. He was also an avid bike rider, sports fan, and all around family man. He truly was a very determined man.
A celebration of Mike’s life 11 AM Saturday March 16th with visitation one hour prior at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 31075 Genesis Ave, Stacy.
So sorry to hear that Mikes journey here one earth has ended. He was one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Hang in there Linda from your sister Kathy
I first met Mike in White Bear Lake when we both were teammates on a softball team for Revard Plumbing Co. He was a superb shortstop, I was an error prone second baseman. Our lives came together again I moved my family to Forest Lake. Wild Mountain ski area had just opened in 1972 and we both became ski instructors. Many great memories of time on that wonderful little hill and the incredible trips out West. Mike’s humor, easy going style, and wonderful demeanor will be with me always. Blessings to Linda , who was an important part of my school team and a dear friend who help Kathy and me in so many ways. Mike’s family has been an integral part of my life through the years. He will be missed dearly…
My dad was the strongest man ever. He was so determined. He never complained. I thought he would live forever. I am so lucky I got so spend everyday with him. He taught me so much. I don’t know how to get through this life without him. He was my best friend. I love you dad!!!!
