Age 68 of Wyoming. Beloved husband, loving father, adored Papa and devoted Christian passed into the arms of Jesus on October 24, 2019 after 18 months of living life with cancer. He was born to Raymond and Mildred Schwabe on June 3, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. Dan just attended his 50th class reunion from Alexander Ramsey High School. He graduated from Mankato State University and went into a career of teaching high school. He taught at North Memorial for 10 years that led to starting his own business, CPR Etc. He taught thousands of people CPR and First Aid in the 40 years of teaching the “best class they ever took.” He will be deeply missed by his clients. Dan loved his family. His best times were with kids and grandkids—camping, hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing and “putzing”. He is survived by wife of 43 years to the day, Toni; son, Kristopher (Amy); daughter, Amanda (Jasper) Nephew; grandchildren, and many family members and friends. 1. I meet Dan Schwabie in the late 90s teaching CPR and first aid and then in the 2000s teaching CPR and first aid to the school bus drivers of Forest Lake he was an awesome teacher and a great person he will be missed

  2. Loved his CPR classes, words of wisdom, stories, and sense of humor. A fantastic teacher who was able to teach young and old about first aid. God Bless

  3. He taught CPR classes for us! Loved his “Schwabeisms!”…. He even asked if he could use one that I said and then wrote in that crazy notebook filled with one liners!!!!! Prayers to the family and Thanks to the Lord for sharing him with us❤️🙏😇

  4. So sorry for your loss! I had many CPR classes with him and somehow he made it educational and entertaining.. .I’ll always remember his SHWAMISIMS….Made us laugh and kept us engaged 😊

  5. Thank you Dan for teaching me CPR! My prayers are for your family left behind. You are in God’s graces!

  6. Prayers for peace in your loss. I am one of many Family Child Care Providers who had Mr. Schwabe for training on CPR and First Aid. Many providers have been wiser, laughed as we learned and children have been safer for his efforts. Peace.

  7. He did truely teach the best class I ever took on cpr and first aid. I could tell he really cared. May he Rest In Peace.

  8. A year ago I took a CPR class taught by Daniel. Daniel has a way of teaching that made it fun and memorable. I’m so sorry for your loss. He taught and saved so many lives. I’m so thankful I was able to be one of his students.

  9. What a truly wonderful guy! I have had CPR lessons through Dan every 2 years since the early 90’s. I loved his goofiness, his skills and his stories. “One good breath deserves another” and the “Schwabe approach”. Blessings to his family. Please know that he is dancing in the heavens with his wit and wisdom. Holly Dukowitz

  10. Best and most sought after CPR/first aid instructor ever! He was the favorite of daycare providers far and near. He used humor, common sense and his practical experience to make typically mundane classes a delight. Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus, kind sir. Washington County licensed daycare provider.

  11. My heart goes out to Dan’s family along with everyone he touched. He has worked with our school staff teaching CPR/First Aid for many years. He shared his family with ours. He will be missed dearly.

  12. Dan was a true friend and teacher. Toni Sorry for you loss oct 24th I was having open Heart surgery. May Dan rip, Jerry Lang

  13. On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Dan’s military service to our country in the Army NG.

  14. Dan was simply, one of the kindest men I’ve had the opportunity to know. He was my first ambulance supervisor when I was a 19 year old kid and a bit scared. He was so patient with our youthful exuberance! I always enjoyed seeing him at our instructor updates. Even when he was sick, he was grace-filled and lovely as he faced the cancer with bravery. In the grief he will be missed by many. In the joy, I have been privileged to know him.

  15. I have had Dan many times for CPR and First Aid class. Dan was an excellent teacher and very unique man!! The last time I was in his class I also got to meet Jasper who I recognized from Eagle Brook Church. I will be praying for God’s comfort for all of you, I know he will be missed by many!! Blessings today and always, April Oldenburg
