Clay Zimmerman

Age 79 of Forest Lake. Loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa & Brother, passed away surrounded by family on September 2, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Nathan & Maves; son-in-law, Eric Locker; sister-in-law, Danelle; niece, Marcha Jepson. Survived by loving wife, Nancy; children, Matt (Steph Ecklund), Jody; grandchildren, Tyler, Kaydin, Jaise, Brinkley, Kamryn, Kendall, Aleciea; siblings, Charlotte Embry, Audrey Mlodzik, Ronnie, Lonnie (Lori), Connie Smith; many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Clay loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. For about 15 years, he owned and operated Forest Lake Sports & Tackle, where he got to share his love of the outdoors with countless customers and friends. He had a soft spot for kids who came through the door and always offered them a sucker. Years later, people would still stop him and tell him they remembered getting a sucker from him when they were kids. Clay also loved getting kids involved with fishing. He hosted a carp fishing contest for children on Clear Lake. Summer vacations were spent fishing at a cabin and in the winter he loved to go ice fishing.

Clay’s life will be celebrated at a later date.
