James G. Gagne

May 26, 1950 ~ March 17, 2026

Age 85 of Centerville.

He was a devoted husband, proud father, and loving grandfather who passed away peacefully after a short battle with health issues on March 17, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, dedication, and unwavering love that will continue to guide all who knew him.

For 43 beautiful years, he was the beloved husband of Dee, sharing a partnership built on commitment, laughter, and deep mutual respect. As a young married couple in the early 1960s, theirs was a relationship ahead of its time – he admired and supported Dee’s fierce independence, standing beside her as an equal partner in every sense. Together, they built a life grounded in love, respect, and shared purpose.

He was a proud and incredible father to his daughters, Shelley and Jenny who were the center of his world. He supported them with quiet strength, wisdom, and constant encouragement, shaping their lives through his example.

His greatest joy extended to his grandchildren, Jimmy and Mackenzie. He found deep happiness in supporting them and watching them grow, taking pride in each of their accomplishments and treasuring the time they spent together.

He carried immense pride in his service to the United States Marine Corps. His time in the Marines helped shape his character – instilling discipline, honor, and a lifelong sense of duty that he carried into every aspect of his life.

He will be remembered for his strong values, steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family. While he will be deeply missed, we find comfort and peace in knowing he is reunited with Dee after so many years apart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Preceded in death by parents, Francis & Anne; wife, Dee; sister, Barb Conlin. Survived by daughters, Shelley (Mike), Jenny (Ben); grandchildren, Jimmy & Mackenzie;

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday March 31st with visitation beginning at 10 AM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment, St Genevieve Catholic Cemetery, Centerville.
