Marilyn Genevieve Wallin

Marilyn Genevieve Wallin, age 78, of Forest Lake, passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2026. A loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, Marilyn will be remembered for the warmth, strength, and devotion she carried throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Charles Wallin; and her parents, Robert and Genevieve Damcke.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Karrie (Scott) Middendorf, Katie (Bob) Fitzgerald, and Jon Wallin; grandchildren, Tyler Mollner, Gavin, and Riley Middendorf, and Mason and Ellie Fitzgerald; and her brother, David Damcke.

Born on April 17, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Marilyn grew up with a strong sense of family and compassion for others. In 1969, she met Charles on a blind date arranged by his cousin, and the two quickly formed a bond that led to their marriage on September 6, 1970. Their life together was filled with love, dedication, and countless cherished memories.

For many years, Marilyn worked nights at Birchwood Nursing Home, allowing her to be home with her children during the day—a true reflection of her devotion to family. She loved taking drives up north, camping along the North Shore, and traveling with friends and family.

Among Marilyn’s greatest joys in life were her grandchildren. Nothing brightened her days more than their laughter, their stories, and the time she spent cheering them on, celebrating their milestones, or simply being part of their everyday lives. Her love for them was boundless, and they brought her immeasurable pride and happiness.

Marilyn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Marilyn’s life will be celebrated with a ceremony at 12 PM Saturday, April 18th with visitation beginning at 11 AM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake.
