Donna Mae Jean Heimsness

Age 85, born on July 24, 1940 in Athens Township, Isanti County, MN to Henry & Cecelia Poff. She passed away on March 7, 2026 at the Villas of Roseville Nursing Home.

She married the man of her dreams, Virgil on September 21, 1974 and they lived in Austin, MN. When she worked she enjoyed her job at the telephone company – Northwestern Bell. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, dancing, word searches, an occasional glass of wine and her cats.

She also enjoyed feeding the birds when she was in her apartment. She loved birds and it was very apparent because everything in her apartment had to do with birds. She enjoyed seeing and spending time with all of her nieces & nephews, and there were a lot of them!

Donna Mae was preceded in death by husband, Virgil; parents, Henry & Cecelia Poff; and all of her siblings. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Donna Mae’s life will be celebrated with a service at 11 AM Friday, March 27^th with visitation beginning at 10 AM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Crystal. Memorials preferred to the Northwoods Humane Society.
