John "Greg" Scherman

Loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother & friend passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2025.

Preceded in death by parents, Norman & Dorothy; son, John; sister-in-law, Marcia Findley.

Survived by wife of 57 years, Chris; son, Tad (Tamika); granddaughter, Anya; sisters, Catherine (Tom) Peterson; Peggy (Michael), Susan (John) Staber; brothers-in-law, Rich Findley, Mike (Lynn) Findley; dear friend, Tom Swanson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Greg grew up in a military family and lived in many places during his youth. His family eventually settled in White Bear Lake and later moved to Forest Lake, where he and Chris raised their sons. An avid outdoorsman, Greg enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, golfing, and traveling on his motorcycle. He was also a gifted craftsman. Most importantly, he loved his family and friends dearly and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Greg’s life will begin with a visitation at 11 AM and prayer service to follow at 1 PM on Saturday, December 27^th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake.  A reception will immediately follow service.
