Willard went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2019.
Preceded in death by son-in-law, Mike Midthun; sister, Viola Daly. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Josie; children, Linda (Art) Lindemann, David (Karen), Nancy (Garry Rehn) Midthun; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brothers, Marvin, Robert, Norman (Chris); nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
A Celebration of Willard’s life 11 AM Friday, March 15th with visitation one hour prior at Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church, 25402 Itasca Ave N, Forest Lake. Military honors to follow the service. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery, Roseville.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Willard’s military service to our country in the Army and to veterans as a Legion member.
I have a memory of Willard, David and I (Karen) would go to their cabin, Willard would be out fishing all day come home to eat and then go back out to fish, Willard would come in from fishing and clean his fish and then ask Josie to cook the fish even if it was 9pm at night, The family had lots of bbq’s up at the cabin. Willard was always happy and smiling no matter what kind of mode he was in or other people were in. I will personally miss Willard so much he was like a 2nd dad to me after I lost my dad 10 years ago. WILLARD I’m sure you will see my Dad and Brother up in heaven. REST IN PEACE WILLARD
