We are so sorry to hear Jimmy passed away. It was shocking indeed since we have just visited him and felt he was in the right direction for his recovery. I will always remember Jimmy as my first hiring manager, hands-on teacher, personal mentor at the Pillsbury Company. His creativity, teaching and people loving will always be missed. He was truly a role model for my life. Thank you, Jimmy! Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Darlene and the DeMars families as they are going through this huge loss. May God bless Jimmy and his families! Qinghuang Geng and family
A truly interesting guy, a good friend, a fishing buddy! He will be missed! Friend since grade school in the old neighborhood. Mike
Jim and I were neighborhood buddies since we were 5 years old going through grade school, high school, and we went into the Air Force on what they said was the buddy system. Jim was the most interesting and intelligent guy I have ever known. While the rest of us kids were playing games he would be building radios, airplanes and rocket ships. He was also a great athlete excelling in all he did. Jim was a great friend and yes, at times a real pain in the rear. I wish his wife Dar the best of everything as she goes through this time of loss. Theirs is a true love story, from the time she got her first ride on the handle bars of his Wizard motorbike until their last day together. Truly a great guy and friend. We’ll miss you Jim. On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Jimmy’s military service to our nation in the Air Force.
Jimmy was one of the smartest and most practical Chemical Engineers that I have worked with. He was an example for all, hardworking, while controlling the work-life balance. He was one of several managers that were supportive of my Chemical Engineer studies while I was a young chemical technician. I am forever grateful! An especially strong memory for me was his months working with Norris Brand and me in Cork, Ireland just as Henkel was closing the Minneapolis labs. He (and Darlene) joined Norris and Laurie Brand and my wife Vivian and I in Ireland helping us during the heavy part of the plant startup. Jimmy was a great resource and a lot of help, especially for a department manager! Sadly it was the closest that I worked with Jimmy. After the labs closed we went to separate companies to work however managed to stay in touch through the Henkel Alumni club. May he rest in Peace. Glenn Heuer
