Age 83 of Forest Lake. Loving Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma & Sister, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 4, 2024. Preceded in death by parents, Ivan & Inez Schreader; sisters, Norma Carston, Kay (Jerry) Johnson. Survived by loving husband of 47 years, Gordon; children, Kim (Brad) Widing, Christine (Peter) Carlson, Lori Koestler, Gordy (Shelley); grandchildren, Christina (Matt), Joey, Jenny, Brandon (Sandy), Matthew (Mariel), Michael (Bekah), Charlie Carlson, John Carlson, Aaron (Mary), Amber (Jeff), MJ (Justine), Morgyn (Garrett), Sam; great-grandchildren, Violet, Mack, Lenny, Wally, Marty, Annie, Oliver, Linnea, Aidan, Dylan, Brooke, Haley, Lucy; sister, Joyce (Jerry) Grinstead; brother-in-law, Ken Carston; many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Phyllis was loving, independent and a problem solver; everything a true matriarch should be. She was happiest when hosting & entertaining her family, she always wanted to make sure everyone was well fed and cared for. Phyllis also had a love for all animals, but especially her beloved dogs. She was passionate about breeding, training, and showing Boxers, earning respect and admiration in the dog show community. Her dogs were not just pets; they were family members. Phyllis & Gordy also loved to hit the open roads in their RV. They traveled throughout the country and enjoyed camping at their destinations. A celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held at 1 PM on her birthday, Sunday, October 13th with visitation beginning at 12 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 N. Shore Dr., Forest Lake. Memorials preferred to Faith Lutheran Church.
