  1. On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Bruce’s military service to our nation and to veterans as a Legion member.

  2. Bruce was a special dear friend, humble, kind and generous! Will miss him! Love to his wonderful family! Jean Loucks

  3. Connie, Jan, and families, Gene and I were so shocked by the email from Forest Hills today….we are in Utah and out of the local news. We share in your sadness of losing Bruce but know you will treasure all the memories you have! Our shared memory of Bruce was driving his brand new black Thunderbird to Florida for him. A little nervous doing that as it was new and not our own. But all went well and now we see it back in your garage from our house in MN. We hope he was able to drive it as many miles as we did! Hugs to all as we won’t be able to attend his memorial service. Dianne Johnson and Gene Hallberg

  4. Johnson family & Friends, I first met Bruce in Vietnam as a replacement. I was introduced to Bruce by John Moxness from Forest Lake. I had a Minnesota flag with names of friends from Minnesota on it. At the time I was going home I gave my flag to Bruce to keep it and pass it down to other Minnesota Boys. From what I know Bruce wounded and all his personal belongings were packaged up and sent with him. The flag had gone home with Bruce. About 30 years later I received a large package. In it was the Minnesota flag. You can’t know how I felt about receiving my old FLAG ! To this day I fly the flag on Memorial Day, Flag day, 4th. July and other special Military Days. This was in Vietnam in 1967 and today the flag is over 51 years old. Rest in Pease Brother Vet. Tim

  5. I am so sorry to hear about Bruce. He was such a good man. Both he and Connie were so helpful to me when I was still doing the golf tournament fund raiser for the 4th of July. I will always remember him for his kindness and generosity. He will be missed by many.

  6. To Lara and Pat especially, but, also to your mother and siblings: You have my sincere sympathy and prayers. Know that you will be remembered in a special way Thursday and Friday.
