Scott Anderson

April 24, 1953 ~ June 20, 2024
Scott Anderson, age 71 of Forest Lake, passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2024, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Millie; brother, Mark. Survived by children, Christine and Steven.
Scott was a lifelong gearhead and shrewd problem-solver who enjoyed working in his shop and taking his classic car to car shows. He was happiest with classic rock on the stereo and a cold beer in his hand, sharing a laugh with family and friends. He was a steadfast, strong, independent, smart, and funny man with hard edges and a soft heart. Most importantly, he was a loving father and loyal friend.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held from 3–6 PM Sunday, September 22nd at Shoreside Bar & Grill, 55 Lake St. S, Forest Lake.
Scott was a longtime friend and fellow classmate from the FLHS Class of 1971. He played guitar and alto sax in our Forest Lake rock band, “Liberty” in the early 1970s. Little did we know when we played a concert at Lakeside Park in Forest Lake in July of 1972, that a judge for a national rock band competition was also in the crowd. “Liberty” was judged the national winner of the “Summer of Sound”, which also included such future-famous bands as Kansas and REO Speedwagon. Rest in peace, and loudly play those Liberty songs….”Minnesota Sun”, “Buckshot”, “Horizons” and “Long Way Home” from the heavens! Brian Tolzmann
Our thoughts and prayers are with you please let us know if you need anything
Scott will be missed. We’ve enjoyed many years going to car shows every weekend & have so many wonderful memories. He wasn’t able to go to any shows this year but I can see him waiting at our meeting place & taking off together to a show. He won a lot of trophys with his beautiful car. We will carry him in our hearts. He will always be our Forever Friend. He loved his kids & Christine & Steve and you are in my thoughts and prayers in days ahead & you feel God’s presence & his arms surrounding you. God Bless!

Q: How did you meet Scott?
A: I met Scott through mutual friends. We would get together and talk cars, music, or the outdoors. Scott was always willing to share his knowledge on the classic car stuff, always trying to get me to buy a classic. I finally bought a “hot rod” and Scott always had a smile on his face when he gave his advise on “fixes” or ideas. I also worked in the area and would stop by to chat or catch him in town driving his truck with the “tin shed” tool box that made him easy to spot. Scott is truly missed! Thoughts and prayers to the family.
