David E. LeMoine

September 22, 1960 ~ February 4, 2018
Age 57 of Farmington, formerly of International Falls. Loving Husband, Dad, Son, Brother, Dave passed away peacefully on February 4, 2018 with his wife and son by his side. Dave was born in International Falls, Minnesota on September 22nd 1960. He was the sixth of eight LeMoine children, and was the baby boy of the family. Growing up in International Falls, he developed a love for all things outdoors, including fishing, hunting, and skipping class to drink beer and jump across ice floes on the frozen Rainy River. At the age of seventeen, he began dating his high-school sweetheart and love of his life, Susie Johnson (LeMoine). A scholar at heart, Dave had stints at Rainy River Community College, Minnesota State University - Mankato, and eventually St. Cloud State University, from which he graduated. He and Susie remained together throughout, and eventually moved to South Minneapolis where they had one son, Nate. Dave was an incredibly patient father, routinely re-tying and re-baiting Nates hook on their many, many fishing trips and throwing ball after ball in the backyard to train for the upcoming baseball seasons. An incredible conversationalist, Dave would be the first to tell you that people were naturally drawn to him, and he became friends quickly with everyone he met. He maintained an incredibly close group of friends, most of which were his childhood and adolescent friends from International Falls. The troublemaking that took place throughout their friendships grew wilder and more dramatic with each repeated story Dave told his son (and anyone else who would listen) in the years to come. Dave will be remembered most by his family and friends as a kind man who was unceasingly loving, incredibly funny, and irrepressibly likable to all those who had the pleasure of meeting him. Dave grew up from the age of fifteen wanting a cabin in the woods of his own to escape to. With the help of his wife, son, brother-in-law, and many friends, this goal was accomplished in the form of a hunting shack in Effie, MN. A labor of love, together with his family, Dave built the empty plot of land into a modest and charming complex, complete with a sauna. He loved nothing more than escaping to Effie at every possible opportunity, where he could spend his time admiring his land, telling stories and jokes with his family, and drinking cheap light beer. Preceded in death by father, Clifford LeMoine; and sister, Loretta (LeMoine) Skwarok. Dave is survived by wife, Susie; son, Nate; mother and stepfather, Darlene and Jerry Richards; four sisters, Brenda (Jon) Promersberger, Dexie (Jeff) Dunham, Barbara (Jeff) Smolinski, and Judy (Ron Rising) LeMoine; two brothers, Chuck (Sandy) LeMoine, and Doug (Cindy) LeMoine; brother-in-law, David Skwarok; five stepbrothers, Pat (Mindy), Mike (Linda), Scott (Karleen), Steve (Sue) Richards and Casey Richards; two stepsisters, Teresa (Kevin) Gilbert and Mary Richards; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Daves Life will take place at 2PM on Friday, February 23rd with visitation beginning 12 noon until time of service at Roberts Family Life Celebration Home, 555 Centennial Drive SW Forest Lake, MN 55025. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Minnesota DNR Nongame Wildlife Program: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/nongame/donate/index.html
