Irene Josephine (Stankievicz) Lind was born in St. Paul Park, Minnesota on August 16, 1922, and went to her eternal home on June 7, 2016, while at Birchwood Senior Living. Irene led a busy and productive life, as a wife, mother and grandmother and will always be remembered by her ready smile. She wore many hats throughout her life; a substitute mail carrier, school cook for 17 years and worked at the Yellow Bus. She was a very active member of Crossroads Evangelical Covenant Church for 70 years where she taught Sunday School, held numerous church positions, worked with the youth, sang in the church choir, was active in Covenant Womens Ministries and served at funerals. Irene was a member of the Forest Lake High School graduation class of 1940 and worked on reunions up until very recent years. Irene was united in marriage to Willard R. Lind on July 30, 1941. They enjoyed 54 years together and were blessed with three children, Mary Sue, Toni and Michael. They lived in Forest Lake for most of those years; living in Siren, Wisconsin for seven years and returning to Forest Lake. Survivors include: children, Mary Sue Johnson (Dennis) St. Cloud, MN, Toni Kay Schwabe (Daniel) Wyoming, MN and Michael (Robin) Wyoming, MN; grandchildren, Paul Johnson, Patricia Johnson Fondrick, Kristopher Schwabe, Amanda Schwabe, Mykala Lind Micek and Kourtni Lind-Watson; five great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; sister, Bernice (Bunny) Sederholm, Forest Lake, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, William and Constance Stankievicz; husband, Willard; brothers, Fred and Ted Stankievicz. A Celebration of Irenes life will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Covenant Church, Forest Lake, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Victor Hill Cemetery. In memory of Irene, donations to Crossroad Evangelical Covenant Church would be her choice.
