Agnes A. Swanson

Age 88 formerly of Leola, SD. Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Agnes is preceded in death by husband, Sidney John Tubby Swanson Jr.; daughter, Cheryl Lee Swanson; Siblings, Eelila Landy, Larry, Allen, and Marvin. She is survived by children, Susan (Paul) Novak, Sidney John (Pat) Swanson III; grandchildren, Christian (Amanda) Novak, Vanessa (Chad Ruter) Novak, Katharine Swanson, Benjamin (Zoe) Swanson, Andrew Swanson; great-grandchildren, Holden Bickford and Will Novak; many special friends and other relatives. She was an excellent mother, grandmother, and baker. Memorials preferred to Easter Seals. Memorial service 2PM Saturday, May 31 at Forest Hills United Methodist Church 1790 11th St. SE, Forest Lake, MN with gathering of family and friends beginning at 1PM until time of service. Interment to follow in Leola, SD in the fall.
Agnes was a delightful lady! I felt fortunate to have her in my life and was proud to call her friend. Over and over, we solved all the world’s problems! It always boiled down to the need for God in our lives and to listen to Him and live as he would want us to!!! She indeed is telling stories in Heaven as we celebrate the life of this lovely lady!

We share in your grief at this time. Who could forget Agnes, her smile and all the baking she did. We still talk about her birthdaycakes, kuchen and rolls. What a great friend.
We loved Agnes! What a sweet lady… I’ll always remember her hugs when we came to visit. I loved hearing her stories about when she was a baker as a young mother. The Nelsons in West Virginia send all our love to all of you as you celebrate her life this weekend.
I always loved the Fall bazaars at Forest Hills Church. Agnes’ baked goods were a favorite of my family’s. She was so good to all of us and will be missed. Peace to you all.
