Michael R. Waltz

August 14, 1946 ~ October 26, 2013
Mike Mick Dad Bapa B.D. Age 67 of Forest Lake On October 26, 2013, the world lost a precious loving man, who was a great teaser, a jokester, a magic fireworks man, and very generous. Mick fought the fight long and hard, with dignity and grace. He overcame every obstacle thrown his way after having a lung transplant in October of 2007. Mike was surrounded by his loving family at the U of M Hospital, fulfilling his last wishes and went comfortably and peacefully. Mike is preceded in death by parents, Bob (Frederick) and Betty L. (Erickson) Waltz; and his daughter, Kari Lee Waltz. He will be deeply missed by his soul mate of 48 years, Carol; daughter, Kim (Jeff) Salo; grandchildren, Jessica (Jonnie) Pangerl, Nicholas (Taylor) Salo, Jeremy Salo, Kassie Salo, Jaime (Blake) Salo, and Megan Gillette; great grandson, Dash Salo; great granddaughter, Aria Salo; brother, Tim (Tina) Waltz; many special nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Being quite the entrepreneur, he owned his own businesses most of his adult life; beginning with Mikes Food Shoppe (known as Mike the Milkman in Minneapolis and suburbs), original owner and founder of Mikes Bait on 8 in 1983 and in 1988, and began County Line Liquor, both in Forest Lake, MN. There was never anything more important to him than his family. He burst with pride knowing they all loved to hunt and fish almost as much as he did. Hell be looking for the best lakes and hunting grounds Heaven has to offer because the good Lord saw to it that we had it on earth. Visitation 4-8 PM Friday, Nov. 1st at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake. Funeral service 10:30 AM Saturday, Nov. 2nd at the funeral home with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment Oakland Cemetery in Marine on St. Croix.
My sincere condolences to you and your family. Revelation 21:4 make this promise, it says: ” And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” What a beautiful promise, we all look forward, from our loving Creator, (Jehovah God, Psalm 83:18). May the God of peace be with you and your family.
Sincerely Yours,
Brandy Molina
my deepest sympathy to you Carol and family, Mike was a great man and will be fondly remembered! he and Dale are together now!
Mike was a great friend and he will be dearly missed. I have known Mike and Carol for over twenty years starting with Ducks Unlimited banquets and many other events, usually associated with the outdoors. Before he got sick, Mike would drop into the office just to talk, mainly about family, hunting and fishing and I will truly miss those conversations. Mike’s legacy is what was always most important to him: Carol and his family. Good hunting Mike!
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Mike. We graduated together from Forest Lake High School in 1964. My sympathy goes to the family. It is always hard to see our loved onces slip from us. I’m sure the good in Mike will continue to shine on through his family.
