Roselyn VanElsberg

September 3, 1941 ~ August 30, 2013
Roselyn Rose VanElsberg, age 72 formerly of Forest Lake, currently of Danbury WI, died unexpectedly on Aug 30, 2013. Roselyn is preceded in death by her husband, Allen VanElsberg, and parents, Agnes and Francis Trudell. She is deeply missed by beloved companion, Tom Bonkrude; daughters, Jody Boyum, Sheila Smith, Wendy Lerdahl; and son, Troy Stanton. Rose worked as a Realtor in Forest Lake during the 70s 80s (Roselyn Stanton) and in the 90s she succeeded in the motel business (Northern Air Motel) and with its sale, she was provided a comfortable happy retirement in Danbury WI for the past 10 years. The picture of Rose in her convertible sports car could describe her best, she loved life and never got too old to live it. Her great humor and comical way of thinking outside of the box was a welcoming way for people to get to know her and wonderful way to remember her by. Rose was granted her long time wish by not knowing what day would be her last and those who know her best have great comfort in knowing where she is now. We are all very sad and we will miss her, but she taught us to see things her way and I will follow with this: Good job Mom, you made it! Please join us to remember and celebrate Rose. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5-7 PM Thurs., Sept. 5th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake with a memorial service beginning at 7 PM.
Babe taught me what bringing a chicken to the table really meant. It took like FOREVER to pluck all those chickens that day. I remember although I was a little older than the rest of the kids, she always made me feel welcome. Prayers to her family. Valerie (Peltier) Davidson
