Thomas V. Walsh

August 17, 1962 ~ December 18, 2012
Thomas Vincent Walsh, age 50, died unexpectedly on December 18, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tom was living the dream working in Field Maintenance at MAC - he especially enjoyed winter and keeping the airport open. He was so proud of his kids, Mason and Megan. They were the lights of his life. He felt blessed to be a Grandpa to his precious granddaughter, Ella and couldnt wait to meet his new grandchild in January. He loved his family and friends and seemed to always be there we he was needed. He loved his slice of paradise in Hayward where he could relax, fish and just spend time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 28 years, Vicki; son and daughter-in-law, Tom Mason and Camille Walsh; daughter, Megan Walsh; granddaughter, Ella Walsh; expected grandchild due in January; parents, Tom Walsh and Barb Halko; father and mother-in-law, Don and Nancy Zager; sisters, Terri Walsh (Paul Munson); Tracey Miller (Craig); brother and sisters-in-law, Todd Zager; Karri Martinson (Ron) and Kelly Zager (Kurt Schindhelm); nieces and nephews; Allie, Ron, Kirk, Max, Logan, Emma, Chad and many other family and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 PM Friday, December 21st at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake. A celebration of Toms life will begin at 6:30 PM.
Vicki- We just heard of Tom’s death. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Vicki, I just saw the obituary in the Forest Lake paper. I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers.
My heart goes out to the family. I didn’t know tom well, but working at the airport I knew there would be a smile and hello from him every time I saw him. Working a different shift makes it hard to get to know someone. But Tom was one of those guys that you wanted to get to know. I retired recently but a couple weeks before my last day,I had a chance to chat for a few minutes. Such a pleasure to talk to him. I can imagine how tough it is for family and friends to be missing him now. My heartfelt sympathy to all who knew him well.
Vicki,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. He sounds like a wonderful guy – one gone way too soon.
Please know you are in my prayers, for healing and peace.
I only met Tom a couple times through my years at dance, but I know that he was a wonderful, loving father to Meg and husband to Vicki. My love, prayers, and thoughts are with you guys
I didn’t know Tom well, but I know Megan. He must have been a pretty special guy to have raised such a wonderful daughter. Kudos to Tom and Vicki…To the family, our hearts are with you in this time of loss.
Vicki and family You know Thom will be greatly missed by all his friends and that me all shard in your sadness we will nerve forget him our love is with you all Lobby and Donna
So sorry to hear about Tom. I only had a chance to talk to Tom a couple of times, but he always had a twinkle in is eyes. Tom and Vicki have always been so good to my mom and dad, we will miss him.
I only knew Tom a short while, but he could always make me laugh and knew the right thing to say. I remember once last year at a dance recital I was having a rough time. My father was being mediavaced out of Afghanistan because of some complications while serving our country and husband was away my father in law was very sick. I remember turning to him and saying “and on top of it I have to run a half marathon tomorrow” he turned to me and said “see that is your problem…you don’t have to run a half marathon tomorrow you GET to run a half marathon tomorrow. He really put it into perspective for me and the next day I ran every step with his words in my head completing my half marathon. Blessed to have know him. He will be missed.
Tom always said I had to get something with a “twist” when we stopped at fast food restaurants, which is very true. It was always fun joking about it. I have vowed to stick to continue to fill my life with twists!
I really got a kick out of Tom’s laugh. Just hearing him laugh made me laugh and I wanted to be in on what was so funny. Tom and I had our best laugh together at a bar in Stillwater at Tosh’s 50th party.
