Ronald "Ron" Earl LaVone

Ronald “Ron” LaVone, age 73, of Forest Lake, passed away on November 26, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.
Ron was born on May 29, 1950, to Robert and Doris LaVone in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from North High School and following graduation; he attended technical school. Ron served in the Army for two years and was very proud to serve his country.He was loving, kind, funny, artistic and creative. Ron enjoyed cooking and painting rocks. Ron was a very dedicated husband. Bonnie and Ron were two peas in a pod, and they were the true meaning of death do us apart.
Ron is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie; son, Derek A. LaVone; grandchild, Oliver LaVone; sister and brother in-law’s, Ron (Kathy) Halvorson, Barb Halvorson, Sam Brown and Marlys Oliverious; special friend, Sue Durand and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Doris LaVone; in law’s, Inez and Alvin Halvorson; and brother-in-law’s, Wayne Halvorson, Gene Brown and Jim Oliverious; nephews, Jarrod Brown and Scott Halvorson.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Ron’s military service to our country in the Army.
What a kind, loving, funny man, artistic! He could sure help Marlys make wonderful Norwegian klub, grams really taught them both how to make it, who will step up to the plate and help Marlys so Bonnie will have lasting memories of just watching, and like the rest of us, eating and enjoying every moment!
You, brother-in-law, will always have a special spot in my heart for you!
God had blessed us with you!
