James "Jim" Wesley Wren Jr.

james

December 24, 1951 ~ October 18, 2023

Age 71, of Stacy Minnesota, passed away on October 18, 2023. He was born in Minneapolis in 1951, and graduated from Duluth East High School in 1971. Jim attended the University of St. Scholastica. He met his wife, Susan, while she was a student at UMD, and they were married for a wonderful 49 years. Together they had two daughters, and three grandchildren. He worked as an IT manager for Customs and Border Patrol for many years until he retired. Jim had a love of the outdoors only surpassed by his love for his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and sons-in-law. His daughters grew up with a dad who taught them to fish, camp, and ride their bikes, but also with unwavering support and unconditional love. He treated his sons-in-law as his own, and they too benefited from his uncanny ability to fix and build anything, with him happily passing down his knowledge and know-how to them as he had to his daughters. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He loved taking them on tractor rides, fishing trips, watching their sports and activities, or just sitting with them watching a Vikings game. The reason for his smile in this photograph is because he had a grandchild on his lap. Jim is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughters and sons-in-law, Sara (Ian) Malpass, Jennifer (Gustavo) Hernandez; his grandchildren, Evelyn, James, and Violet; his brothers, Jan (Peggy) Wren, Brian (Elisa) Wren, and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date.
