So sorry for your loss. This is so tragic. Thankful I was able to see him and catch up at our class reunion. Prayers for his family and friends.
So sorry for your loss. It was great getting together for our WHS reunion. Had a lot of fun with everyone getting together at my house.
Lee, We have never met but I know you. I know you through the legacy you leave behind in your son Jake. I have been blessed by your gifts through Jake in compassionate and enduring friendship. As a fellow member of the Fatherhood fraternity, one in which we strive to leave this world a better place through our children you have done exactly this. Although your physical presence was tragically cut short here with us on earth your legacy lives on and will continue to for generations because of what you’ve done and who you are! My heart hurts for all of those grieving and pray that they find peace in the ripples of blessings you’ve left behind for all of us to know you in. Someday in the future I will find you and thank you for this. Gods speed, fair winds and following seas and go rest high on that Mountain Lee! Dave and Lisa King
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
As you grieve know that we are remembering you and honoring the memory of Lee.
Everyone here is thinking of you all during this difficult time. Strength and hugs from here…. Robert, Helge and Lisa
No matter how you addressed him. Lee – Leakie-Chief or Dad he was the same great guy.
In the short 8 years I had the pleasure of knowing Lee we relived our lives from childhood to the present.
The call of “hey neighbor” always signaled it’s time to put down the tools, take a pull from the tap, crack a beer or anything cold and wet. Whether it was in my shop, along Lee’s garden or in the middle of either yard sitting on lawnmowers. Several times over the course of a month we would take time off from the never-ending projects we would get ourselves into and compare notes. If you were the one with the newest battle scar you could start. No matter where or when Lee always had lessons to learn and live by and every now and then as Lee once said, “we spun the fun dial off the clock”.
I could tell over the course of many conversations about family that Lee truly loved and admired Cindy who he affectionately referred to as Mom. Jake and Dan were always mentioned in a positive way. He was proud of their accomplishments and said that he no longer knew it all and could learn a thing or two from them. The arrival of grandchildren popped the buttons of his shirt and he always looked forward to seeing them.
He was by far the best neighbor we ever had and will be missed greatly.

This reminds me of Lee’s green thumb. Will miss so many things about you, Lee. With heartfelt sympathy for all of you, Ed and Betty Bertsch
This picture is so “Lee”. It looks just like the many times he was telling or listening to a good story. Always interested and interesting! I’ve shared many happy times through the years, but especially at the cabin where I feel like he was living his best life. He always made you feel so welcome. I’m thankful he was able to attend his class reunion and take that trip to Hawaii with Cindy, Curt, and sis Claudia. Rest in peace, Lee. Your spirit lives on in Jake and Dan, and their children.
We are so sorry for your loss.
With deepest sympathy, one of the “OLD GANG”
Too many memories to share them all! Classmate. Hunting buddy. Drinking buddy. Co-conspirator. After 40 years I just saw him again September. It was like no time had passed. That big grin. Infectious laugh. Kind countenance.
I see my good friend shining through the picture posted in his obituary. Thank you for all the memories Lee. I love you.
Ron
