Retired St. Paul District Fire Chief. Passed away March 7, 2022 from a heart attack. Ron is cherished & adored by wife, Arlene Hackman Schaffer; very proud father of twins, Mary Jo (John) Distler, Michael (Darla) Schaffer & Dr. Janet (Greg Rudisill) Schaffer; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Thomas) Wang, Annie Distler, Jacob & Zane Schaffer, Sam, Michael (Caroline) & Sarah Rudisill. Ron was a USMC veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the City of St. Paul after 37 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and the best husband, father & grandpa ever. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Monday, March 14th with visitation one hour prior at Church of St. Peter, 1250 S. Shore Dr., Forest Lake. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
