Scott "Scotty" Hannah

scott hannah

September 12, 1969 ~ January 8, 2022

Scott James Hannah passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at age 52 at the Hospital in Wyoming, MN with his loving wife Julie at his side. Scott was born on September 12, 1969 in St. Paul, MN. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara (Hannah) LaDoucer. He is survived by his loving wife Julie (Hammer) and children Brandon, Meghan and Ryan; his father Tom (Sue) Hannah, extended family and countless friends. Scott grew up in St. Paul where he met several of his life-long friends, who he considered brothers. He attended Cretin High School, played football there and graduated in 1988. Scott moved to Duluth in 1996 where he continued his career with Slumberland and met the love of his life. Julie & Scott were married in Duluth May of 1998. Career opportunities with Slumberland took them to Madison, WI then on to Wichita, KS and finally back to MN where they raised their family in North Branch. Scott always joked about collecting souvenirs from each state; Brandon was born in Wisconsin, Meghan in Kansas and Ryan in Minnesota. Scott was dedicated to hockey and Tae Kwon Do in support of his children. Scott and Julie spent most of their free time at games and competitions for their kids. Scott loved his family time at these events. We remember Scott’s smile and gentle way. He was not only the shirt-off-your-back kind of guy, but he’d give you his shoes to go with it. With tremendous support from family and friends, Scott fought a difficult cancer prognosis. We were gifted with 8 more years of Scott in our lives. Scott loved the outdoors and cooking for friends and family. Scott’s kindness, soft smile and gentle spirit will be missed by all who were blessed to have known and loved him. Our family appreciates your prayers and support as we navigate this sudden loss. We encourage you to share your memories of Scott with us as we all grieve together. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held Saturday, January 22nd at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake from 1:00-3:30PM, with a memorial service from 3:30-4PM.

I met Scott back in 1996 when I started at Slumberland as a sales support team member part time. I wanted more hours and Scotty let me work in the warehouse to pickup more hours. Scotty would call me “BIRDY”. He was a great mentor over the years. I remember some fun times we had at the family picnics over the years. Especially the water balloon fights and when we were drag racing each other on the way home from Quada Mountain…😊 Rest In Peace my Friend! Hugs to you Julie..❤️🙏
