My first memory of my Father in Law (Dad) was when he came up to she his daughter, Rosa, and her new husband, me (Eric). Rosa and I went to work, while we were at work. Fred walked from our apartment to Saar’s Supermarket in search of some fresh jalapeños. So when Rosa and I got home, he had a bowl on the table and he asked me to sit down. He said “I bet you can’t eat one of these without getting water in your eyes.” Of course I accepted the challenge. Before we both knew it, half of the dozen jalapeños he had purchased were eaten (by me). He was in a state of chock, because I was still functioning. I guess he didn’t think a boy from Arkansas could handle Hot jalapeños. Boy was he mistaken. I have quite a few fond memories of this great man. Thank you for allowing me to marry your daughter, Rosa Hasselius Perez. You will always be in my thoughts. Rest in Prace Dad! I love you!

I’m very sadden to learn of the passing of such a great man. I work at the kwik trip he came to regularly. I’ve been waiting since the last time i saw him to see his smiling face walk through the door. He will be missed. He brought alot of joy to my life each and every time I was lucky enough to be around him. Anyone who was lucky enough to know him would know how beautiful of a person he is. I never stopped thinking of him. Sending Lots of love to his family.
