Age 81 of Lindstrom. Loving Dad, Grandpa.Great-Grandpa, Brother. Passed away peacefully on June 28, 2020, now resting in the arms of Jesus.
Preceded in death by wife, Sharon; step-son, Joe Mertes; siblings. Survived by sons, Mike, Todd; step-children, Mark (Faye) Hesla, Paul Hesla, Jack Mertes, Jenna Mertes (Tim Motzko); grandchildren, Anthonie (Heather), Brytanie (Max), Zachari (Gretta), Johnny, Elaina, Lauren, Olivia; great-granddaughter, Ruby; sister, Cathy Samalaska; many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Jim was a National Account Manager at 3M for 31 years. He had a passion for flying planes, singing karaoke, woodworking, fishing and he always tried to make people laugh.
Public visitation on Thursday, July 9th from 4-8 PM at the Roberts Family Life Celebration Home in Forest Lake - all are welcome and are required to wear a mask. Due to COVID restrictions, however, attendance will be limited for the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 11th (11 AM) at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom.
