Eugene "Gene" Smith
January 23, 1939 ~ March 5, 2020
Age 81 of Marine on St. Croix. Loving dad, grandpa, great-grandpa passed away peacefully on March 5, 2020.
Preceded in death by wife, Judi; step-son, Kevin. Survived by children, Deby (Don) Volk, Don, Ed, Christy Lins, Tammy, Andy; step-children, Kellie, Kory, Kirk; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Gene retired from Metro Transit as a bus driver.
A celebration of Gene’s life 12 Noon Friday, March 13th with visitation one hour prior at Roberts Family Life Celebration Home, Forest Lake. Military honors will be provided by the Forest Lake American Legion.
Gene was my very good friend for eleven years. We spent many afternoons on the deck visiting with family and friends. Many evenings Gene would come for dinner and then we would watch “Wheel of Fortune” and have lots of laughs. Gene, was kind, caring and had a great sense of humor. He was a special friend and will be so, very missed. RIP Geno.
I remember you as all the the men in our family. To many memories to count. You were a great uncle with many words of wisdom. Your journey has just begun. To the next life I hope you find peace. Fair well Mr Smith and have joy with the ones that have past before you.
